Here's another thought for a session at the Nov conference..

Title:
"Teaching and Learning in a non-metro school : Positives, Negatives and suggestions to deal with some issues" - ideal for country members travelling to the city to discuss their points of view.
A panel session for the above

I'd be prepared to either chair or be part of that panel.

Kent.

Thats one from the West,(me)
one from the East (Brendan)
North/South reps for a panel?
Plus a Vitta member from Central?

Magic....instant panel!!

Now all we need is approval for the session and a timeslot!

Presentation tools? Projector, Laptop(s)?, Recording devices for Video and Audio input from audience and panel members..roving microphone for Q & A responses...

Well Phil...can you find a spot on the conference schedule for our 'discussion panel' topic? Then we can put the cards on the table with members experiencing probs and talk about op

Howzat.

Leaders, Cam Peverett, is running a regular Web Conference sessions, using
Elluminate, that focus on the issues and needs of rural and remote schools.
Cam is a primary teacher and it looks like the focus of his next session is
on that area BUT I'm sure he would be happy to include any discussion of
relevant issues or invite you to present a session??? And that's regardless
of whether you are primary, p-12, secondary, DEECD or private schools.
Contact him for more info.

Here are some details:

Where's the Remote? Session 4
August 5, 2010 from 3:45pm to 5pm - Victoria
A discussion on the topical trials and tribulations experienced by teachers
in rural school. In particular, this session will be regarding Silverton
Primary School and Inquiry-Based Learning. We will be endeavouring to get
Tony (principal) and/or other staff members to attend this session and give
us ideas and advice on their inquiry model of teaching. This session will be
joined by a number of schools trialling an enquiry model in its very infant
stage, with the many issues that arise from the implementation of such
programs in the early stages.

Organized by Cameron Peverett |
http://guidetoinnovation.ning.com/events/wheres-the-remote-session-4

All the Web Conference Leaders are happy to help out with Elluminate and
will moderate sessions for you, where possible.
See the DEECD virtual conference web site and Guide to Innovation Ning for
more info.

And a plug here for my next session this Tuesday night 6-7pm which is on
copyright and will feature Delia Browne, an extremely experienced
intellectual property lawyer, the National Copyright Director of the
Copyright Advisory Group. Will send a separate message with more info.

Happy to have you on board AJ!
I guess that means I am now coming to the conference....
hmmm....day 1 you say...ok!

If you wish, I can put together a small intro presentation and include in it some of the points we often raise as a starter for the session...and let the audience take it from there.

A bit like the 'Insight' program on the ABC.

Looking forward to the panel session.

Kent.
