Does a crow have a call that sounds anything like the prominent call of a
Yellow-billed Cuckoo? I keep hearing what sounds like a cuckoo to me, with
one exception. The recorded prominent cuckoo sound I have heard seems to be
one continuous sound lasting for about a second. The bird I am hearing in
our neighborhood has that sound, but it seems to be a very rapid series of
sounds over the same time interval, which as a composite, sounds identical
to the cuckoo. My apologies for not knowing the acoustical terminology to
define what I am hearing.

I have played the crow calls from several sources and do not hear this call.
However, I seem to recall that someone has said the crow does have a call
somewhat similar to that of a YBCU. I'm not referring to the rattling
sounds both make.

Any clarification will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Carol
