Dear All:

Has anyone ever had this question? The number of certified nurses in the US and/or the world? I have checked the ANA nurses credentialing center (http://www.nursecredentialing.org/Certification.aspx), the American Board of Nurse Specialists, and called in to the head, who is out of the office.

Certified, in this sense, means not just RNs (which I got from the Dept of Labor), but RNs with their specialty certification, and there are myriad.

I was asked to do a lit search in CINAHL, and I did, but I don't see any hard numbers on this topic.  Any thoughts, ideas, anything would be much appreciated, and I will be happy to summarize for the list. The deadline is tomorrow, if possible. You can reply to me directly below of on this list - I don't mind, either way.

Thanks in advance!
