> After our Executive Director Aaron Oxley spoke at the recent Alma Mata seminar on advocacy and partnership, RESULTS UK would like to invite all Alma Mata members to come and find out more about advocacy in practice and the possibility of having Alma Mata members form a RESULTS advocacy group.

> We feel there is sufficient interest amongst the Alma Mata membership to make this a real possibility. RESULTS UK is small UK charity with a 25-year history of undertaking advocacy that has had significant impact on the policies and practices of the UK government, EU and other key decision makers. As an organisation we have a strong global health focus and in 2012 we will be working on:

> Unlocking finance for research into new vaccines against the diseases of poverty.
> Supporting the expansion and improvement of existing vaccination programs across the developing world.
> Lobbying for new drugs, diagnostics and prevention strategies in the fight against TB
> Pushing for integrated TB/HIV policy from all organisations that support such programs.
> Calling on the UK and other global leaders to financially support the Global Fund to fight Aids, TB and Malaria.
> We provide practical advocacy training for everyone we work with and make taking coordinated, effective action both easy and enjoyable. Whilst your specific area of interest may not overlap with our 2012 priorities, the skills you would learn by being in action can be translated to any global health issue.

> We will be holding an initial training and introduction to RESULTS workshop in either late Feb or early March. The event will be free, non-committal, educational and fun.
