Hello Everyone,
Next *Tuesday November 22nd* the County Commissioners will hold a
Special Meeting to discuss and hopefully set the public hearing date
for the Land Use Code (LUC) being proposed. They will also discuss and
decide when to release the document for public review. Prior to the
public hearing there will be regional meetings and a public comment period.
I strongly encourage you to come to the meeting to get the most updated
information available. Jacob Caldwell, County Manager and Rick Bellis,
Planning Director have both told me that each Neighborhood Association
will have the opportunity to review the most up to date revised LUC
before it is publicized. Coming to the meeting on Tuesday will
demonstrate our continued commitment and interest in remaining active as
the LUC moves forward to the hearing which I have been told will
possibly be held at the end of January 2012.
The LCWMPA overlay within the document has had some changes and the
LCWMPA Board of Directors will be reviewing these changes as soon as we
get the document. You are welcome to join in this effort. This is your
Neighborhood Association and all input and participation is welcomed.
Working together toward the approval of the revised Land Use Code will
afford our community greater clarity and accountability in the planning
for and managing of growth here in Taos. It is a living document that
will need ongoing fine tuning to meet the current and future needs of
our community and while not perfect in it's current form it is a
tremendous improvement over what exists today.
I hope to see many of you at the meeting on *Tuesday November 22nd at
9am* at the Administrative Judicial Complex in the *TAOS COUNTY
COMMISSION CHAMBERS
A special thank you to those of you who have worked very hard for many
years on the development of the proposed LCWMPA land use plans.
