More likely than not, your e-mail client chopped the URL into two
lines, but then only made the first half a link. Cut and paste the
entire URL into the address bar of a browser manually, and the link
should work.

Then, submit a bug report to the author of your email client, so they
can fix the UI bug. :)

Yeah, I thought of that later, after I discovered that it worked OK from Fred's original email.

My email client here is Yahoo mail and I don't like how it handles replies/forwards.  Good luck trying to get them to change anything!  When I need to respond with text insertions I use my gmail account where my arrl.net reflector points.

This kind of failure as a result of link chop-up has happened a number of times and I should have remembered that.
