I can confirm this is the case. PHP can be added to a new site through the
wizard. however the above error occurs when trying to add it to an existing
site.
I am running cherokee 1.2.99 from the ppa on ubuntu 10.04LTS w/ all updates

I just went through and manually configured a handler to use a local php
fcgi interpreter and that worked without issue. It appears that something
is broken in the wizard.
