thanks in advance!

This is a great German pop record:
http://www.amazon.de/Münchener-Freiheit-Ihre-Grössten-Hits/dp/B0000072FS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1309959863&sr=8-4

(If you don't mind that it's mainly from the eighties)

Surely Kraftwerk must be recommended. Not all of their lyrics are
German, of course.

There is a band from Berlin called MIA with a nice couple of singles from
their last album, involving some good synths (on Wikipedia in
Englishor
German ):

Mein Freund: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6S_K8_0FTc

Mausen: http://youtu.be/-jZAWRUMBPM

Enjoy,

Wir Sind Helden is nice too : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Wir+Sind+Helden
