Get 1.1.0 as 1.0.1 does not work with 10.6

http://sourceforge.net/projects/aquaterm/files/AquaTerm/

If you compile gnuplot 4.4.3
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuplot/files/gnuplot/
after you install AT 1.1.0 the default terminal will be aqua

Alternatively you can get a binary with Octave 3.4.0

http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20MacOSX%20Binary/

but it will use X11 (aqua will not be available). But X11 is also very decent.

PS As gnuplot needed for extended features in pgf/tikz it is not exactly OT

What is "it"?

Aquaterm 1.1.0 comes with two architectures

AquaTerm: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
AquaTerm (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
AquaTerm (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386

therefore you need intel but not necessarily x64

For pgf/tikz terminal aqua and thus AquaTerm are not needed

It seems like a new Aquaterm package 1.1 was released a few months ago for Mac OS 10.6.
So it installs a 64 bit AquaTerm.framework and a 64 bit Aquaterm.app.
You don't need anymore to compile yourself the two components for running Gnuplot in a terminal set to Aqua.
My previous post is still valid when compiling Gnuplot.
I do need Gnuplot when typesetting files TeX with tikz package and some other packages (tkz-base and tkz-fct).

Get 1.1.0 as 1.0.1 does not work with 10.6

http://sourceforge.net/projects/aquaterm/files/AquaTerm/

If you compile gnuplot 4.4.3
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuplot/files/gnuplot/
after you install AT 1.1.0 the default terminal will be aqua

Alternatively you can get a binary with Octave 3.4.0

http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20MacOSX%20Binary/

but it will use X11 (aqua will not be available). But X11 is also very decent.

PS As gnuplot needed for extended features in pgf/tikz it is not exactly OT

What is "it"?

Aquaterm 1.1.0 comes with two architectures

AquaTerm: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
AquaTerm (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
AquaTerm (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386

therefore you need intel but not necessarily x64

For pgf/tikz terminal aqua and thus AquaTerm are not needed

It seems like a new Aquaterm package 1.1 was released a few months ago for Mac OS 10.6.
So it installs a 64 bit AquaTerm.framework and a 64 bit Aquaterm.app.
You don't need anymore to compile yourself the two components for running Gnuplot in a terminal set to Aqua.
My previous post is still valid when compiling Gnuplot.
I do need Gnuplot when typesetting files TeX with tikz package and some other packages (tkz-base and tkz-fct).

As I mentioned in a previous post the compiled version of AquaTerm 1.1.0 from sourceforge doesn't work properly. It doesn't clear the plot area before drawing a new plot.
It superimposes each plot on the previous plot.

As far as I can see, it is simply broken.

As I mentioned in a previous post the compiled version of AquaTerm 1.1.0 from sourceforge doesn't work properly. It doesn't clear the plot area before drawing a new plot.
It superimposes each plot on the previous plot.

As far as I can see, it is simply broken.

No, AquaTerm clears my first plot and doesn't superimpose the second on the previous.

That's nice for you but not so nice for me or my desktop computer.
Something weird must be going on with my system.
I will have to try my laptop and see what happens there.
Haven't got a clue.

Get 1.1.0 as 1.0.1 does not work with 10.6

http://sourceforge.net/projects/aquaterm/files/AquaTerm/

If you compile gnuplot 4.4.3
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuplot/files/gnuplot/
after you install AT 1.1.0 the default terminal will be aqua

Alternatively you can get a binary with Octave 3.4.0

http://sourceforge.net/projects/octave/files/Octave%20MacOSX%20Binary/

but it will use X11 (aqua will not be available). But X11 is also very decent.

PS As gnuplot needed for extended features in pgf/tikz it is not exactly OT

What is "it"?

Aquaterm 1.1.0 comes with two architectures

AquaTerm: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
AquaTerm (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
AquaTerm (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386

therefore you need intel but not necessarily x64

For pgf/tikz terminal aqua and thus AquaTerm are not needed

It seems like a new Aquaterm package 1.1 was released a few months ago for Mac OS 10.6.
So it installs a 64 bit AquaTerm.framework and a 64 bit Aquaterm.app.
You don't need anymore to compile yourself the two components for running Gnuplot in a terminal set to Aqua.
My previous post is still valid when compiling Gnuplot.
I do need Gnuplot when typesetting files TeX with tikz package and some other packages (tkz-base and tkz-fct).

No it installs a 32 bit and a 64 bit Intel architecture..

As I mentioned in a previous post the compiled version of AquaTerm 1.1.0 from sourceforge doesn't work properly. It doesn't clear the plot area before drawing a new plot.
It superimposes each plot on the previous plot.

As far as I can see, it is simply broken.

I've just installed the new AquaTerm 1.1 upon my the one I compiled myself and it works correctly. Here is a copy from a Terminal:

No, AquaTerm clears my first plot and doesn't superimpose the second on the previous.

I've just tried the laptop (MBPro 13" 2010 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8).
Same problem as on the desktop.
Plots are superimposed.

I haven't got a clue about what's the problem so I'm giving up for the time being.
