Dear Almamata enthusiasts,

There has been a significant reorganisation within Almamata working
group over the past few months to re-energise the work we do. And now
you have the opportunity to be a part of it! Elections for committee
positions will be held at the Almamata open day on the 18th of June. But
you can also join the Almamata Working Group to get more involved. If
you weren't already thinking of coming on the 18th, well, here's another
reason to...

There are six positions up for grabs. They are: President, Secretary,
Education coordinator, Campaigns coordinator, Research coordinator,
External Communications coordinator. The job descriptions for each are
at the end of this e-mail. A few of us have taken on these roles
temporarily, but now is the time for the intervention of democracy!

It is important to note that the Almamata Working Group still exists.
This is a core group of keen and enthusiastic Almamata members who want
to get that bit more involved with activities, events and decisions. So
even if you do not have a defined 'role' you can join the working group.
If you think this is for you send an e-mail to
and you will be added to the working group e-mail list.

*How the election works:*
/Putting yourself forward - /you can either declare your interest to run
for one of these positions before the meeting on the 18th by sending an
e-mail to the Almamata members list, or you can do it on the 18th at the
Almamata open day. You don't have to be there for be a candidate, but it
may help!

/The vote - /the vote will take place at the open day. Only those
present will get the chance to vote. We're sorry that those who are not
there will not get a say, but we felt this was the simplest way to run
the election.

/What happens afterwards - /the new committee will arrange the next
working group committee. Even if you are not elected, then you should
join the working group to help support the new committee.

All the very best,

The Almamata working group
