Dear Mariangela,

In Dakar, during the WSF Assembly on the G8 and G20 mobilizations, participants decided to have two different international seminars. One at the end of march (on G8 and G20), and one after the G8 mobilizations themselves, on the 23rd and 24th of may, focused on the G20 (+ on the evaluation of the G8 counter-summit).
Shortly after the WSF, the EPA decided to have a meeting at the very same moment, to discuss the future of the process.
Many participants in the 23rd/24th of may seminar won't be from european movements. So having a full day of plenary on the ESF wouldn't match their expectations (which are to discuss the G20 mobilizations, and other international mobilizations). At the same time, it would've been sad not to try to articulate the two seminars together.
This results in the agenda which was sent few days ago.
This, by no way, means that the ESF process is let aside. It simply acknowledges that not all participants in the seminar do want to discuss the ESF process.

The WSF International Council meeting will be from the 25th to the 27th. It is organized by the IC, but is off course opened to observers. So far, there is no detailed agenda for this meeting.

I hope this helps clarifying the situation.

Dear all,

maybe I am wrong but until now I have not read a word about any provisions
for Eastern European participants of the EPA (visa invitations. language
assistance/interpretation, travel costs, solidarity accommodation). To make
it even easier for the organizers, the provisions and programme for future
EPAs could be sent out just one day before the EPA starts. Go West!

Dear all,

I think there is a big confusion. Nobody did call for an EPA meeting in

Since the information was given in the EPA in Budapest concerning the
(open)international seminar on the G20 (May 23+24) during the days between
the manifestation in France (Le Havre, May 21) and the meeting of the
International Council (25-27), we said that this could be the occasion to
speak on the idea to have the next WSF in Europe, before the discussion on
this in the International Council. It is an opportunity, and not a
prepared meeting.

But the discussion shows that we have to organize a specific moment for
this discussion, with all the people present in Paris and interested by
this discussion.

Conclusion:
people are asked to see if they can participate in
1. the demonstration May 21 + Forum on alternatives May 22 (Le Havre,
Normandie)
2. the seminar on G20 in Paris, May 23+24
3. the IC / WSF

Please let's stop aggressive attitudes East/Ouest!!!! These are divisions
helping our ennemis, we have to fight against.
And in reality, a lot is done for solidarity, because we know what is the
reality.

Best Regards,
Elisabeth

I hope this helps clarifying the situation.

to the administators of this list

There is a problem with Azril Bacal in this list . He doesnt want to send his personal mail to the list but this happens. I sent a mail to him and he told me that each time he sends a mail this goes directly to the list and I checked it out that in fact he doesnt put the address of the list in the mail. It looks like there is a problem
My suggestion is to take him off the list and put him back after one or two days in order to clean the matter.
Lets try if this works

By the way I am really astonished from the act that with all is happening in the countries where we live connected with movements against the cuts the request of an european meeting in october on this matter doesn't seem to actract any of the TU, individuals, organizations and all the people in this list

Dear all,

I think there is a big confusion. Nobody did call for an EPA meeting in
Paris in may.

And in reality, a lot is done for solidarity, because we know what is the
reality.

Best Regards,
Elisabeth

to the administators of this list
