We are pleased once again to have NEIL FREDERICKSON here to pour his wines. He has been growing grapes for a few years and selling fruit to other wineries. He is a “hands-on” grape grower, basically doing everything himself. He will be happy to tell you all about this hard work. As he says “Our labor of love is to get the best wine grapes achievable to artisan wine makers to weave their magic”.

He has a small amount of wine made for him by ALFREDO APOLLONI, one of Italy’s – I mean Oregon’s – artisan wine makers who is a customer for Neil’s grapes.

Next Tuesday we are pleased to welcome BLAKE CROY of HM WINE DISTRIBUTING. This company is the distributing arm of LAGO di MERLO VINEYARDS of CALFORNIA, and who also represent other wineries. The “HM” refers to HARRY MERLO, that great soccer fan and U of P supporter. I seem to think he was CEO of some company…!

Blake will be pouring:

CELLER CAMP de TARRAGONA d’ABBATIS 2006 GRAN CAVA - $22.50
This is a fantastic bubbly from CATALUNYA in SPAIN. While more expensive than most CAVAS, this 100% PARELLADA wine is well worth the money (I thought it good value at its original price of $24.50).

McNAB RIDGE 2008 CHARDONNAY, MENDOCINO, CALIFORNIA - $11.25
This is a modest Chardonnay from California – good fruit, subtle oak, and some balancing acidity. I turned it down at the original asking price of $17.50, but at today’s price it is great value.

LAGO di MERLO 2003 SYRAH, DRY CREEK VALLEY - $17.75
When do you get a chance to try a 7 year-old CA Syrah?
