I am trying to get a sense of how many hospital libraries are offering UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have canceled their subscription because of cost. We have just received a quote for next years subscription and we are going to have to determine if we can continue this resource. Thanks in advance for any information.

I am trying to get a sense of how many hospital libraries are offering UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have canceled their subscription because of cost. We have just received a quote for next years subscription and we are going to have to determine if we can continue this resource. Thanks in advance for any information.

I am trying to get a sense of how many hospital libraries are offering
UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the
upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have
canceled their subscription because of cost. We have just received a
quote for next years subscription and we are going to have to determine
if we can continue this resource. Thanks in advance for any information.

Forgot to add, our IT Dept funds it since the Library does not have a budget to support it. Our IT Dept also funds MD Consult for us but puts the links under the Library. They are great and no, I don't report to them.

I am trying to get a sense of how many hospital libraries are offering
UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the
upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have
canceled their subscription because of cost. We have just received a
quote for next years subscription and we are going to have to determine

Forgot to add, our IT Dept funds it since the Library does not have a budget to support it. Our IT Dept also funds MD Consult for us but puts the links under the Library. They are great and no, I don't report to them.

We're not in the middle of the country, but thought you'd like to know
about our arrangement.

We offer UpToDate to the staff site-wide and both docs and nurses love
it and strongly object each time we've suggested dropping it.

Until last year, the library paid for it. IT took over the cost this
year, as we wanted to offer it to our physicians at their off-site
offices.

They sign in using our EMR software and go to it through the external
links feature. Offering it off-site jumped the price, which we thought
was already high, into the stratosphere. So IT has taken it into their
budget and we have a very good relationship with them about its
features, training and marketing. In fact we had a webex meeting
yesterday with UpToDate, our CME person, IT and the Library to discuss a
few issues and features.

Forgot to add, our IT Dept funds it since the Library does not have a budget to support it. Our IT Dept also funds MD Consult for us but puts the links under the Library. They are great and no, I don't report to them.

We're not in the middle of the country, but thought you'd like to know
about our arrangement.

We offer UpToDate to the staff site-wide and both docs and nurses love
it and strongly object each time we've suggested dropping it.

Until last year, the library paid for it. IT took over the cost this
year, as we wanted to offer it to our physicians at their off-site
offices.

They sign in using our EMR software and go to it through the external
links feature. Offering it off-site jumped the price, which we thought
was already high, into the stratosphere. So IT has taken it into their
budget and we have a very good relationship with them about its
features, training and marketing. In fact we had a webex meeting
yesterday with UpToDate, our CME person, IT and the Library to discuss a
few issues and features.

In our case, the College of Medicine itself is paying for UpToDate, although they pay only for on-campus usage.

There is no way our library could possibly afford it, even without off-campus access, so if the COM ever drops it, our folks are out of luck.

Actually, though, I could think of a lot of resources I'd rather pay for than UpToDate.

UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the
upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have

Forgot to add, our IT Dept funds it since the Library does not have a budget to support it. Our IT Dept also funds MD Consult for us but puts the links under the Library. They are great and no, I don't report to them.

We're not in the middle of the country, but thought you'd like to know
about our arrangement.

We offer UpToDate to the staff site-wide and both docs and nurses love
it and strongly object each time we've suggested dropping it.

Until last year, the library paid for it. IT took over the cost this
year, as we wanted to offer it to our physicians at their off-site
offices.

They sign in using our EMR software and go to it through the external
links feature. Offering it off-site jumped the price, which we thought
was already high, into the stratosphere. So IT has taken it into their
budget and we have a very good relationship with them about its
features, training and marketing. In fact we had a webex meeting
yesterday with UpToDate, our CME person, IT and the Library to discuss a
few issues and features.

In our case, the College of Medicine itself is paying for UpToDate, although they pay only for on-campus usage.

There is no way our library could possibly afford it, even without off-campus access, so if the COM ever drops it, our folks are out of luck.

Actually, though, I could think of a lot of resources I'd rather pay for than UpToDate.

subscription to UpToDate for all VA libraries. Prior to that, the 8
libraries in our VISN (VA acronym for region) pooled our funds for a
common subscription.

I am trying to get a sense of how many hospital libraries are offering
UptoDate to users. I am particularly interested in libraries in the
upper Midwest. I am also interested in finding out if any libraries have
canceled their subscription because of cost. We have just received a

We're not in the middle of the country, but thought you'd like to know
about our arrangement.

We offer UpToDate to the staff site-wide and both docs and nurses love
it and strongly object each time we've suggested dropping it.

Until last year, the library paid for it. IT took over the cost this
year, as we wanted to offer it to our physicians at their off-site
offices.

They sign in using our EMR software and go to it through the external
links feature. Offering it off-site jumped the price, which we thought
was already high, into the stratosphere. So IT has taken it into their
budget and we have a very good relationship with them about its
features, training and marketing. In fact we had a webex meeting
yesterday with UpToDate, our CME person, IT and the Library to discuss a
few issues and features.

In our case, the College of Medicine itself is paying for UpToDate, although they pay only for on-campus usage.

There is no way our library could possibly afford it, even without off-campus access, so if the COM ever drops it, our folks are out of luck.

Actually, though, I could think of a lot of resources I'd rather pay for than UpToDate.
