It is a four-bed residential house, peer-staffed 24/7. (if you are in
crisis, this isn't the place for you. The "service definition" is named
"hospital diversion" but crisis aversion is more accurate. better.

University of Nebraska at Lincoln graduate students in clinical psychology

write this up for publication and include the history of both peer run and
other crisis respites.

There is one house in the Netherlands on the Rose House model, and they are
working on another. This request isn't limited to this country, but I
recognize that info can be hard to get.

In 1990 I worked with Sally Zinman, Howie the Harp, Tanya
Temkin and the Center for Self-Help Research (CSHR) in
Berkeley to put in an application for a "crisis respite"
setup in the Berkeley area. We got the support of the
County BOS but .. the application was rejected by SAMHSA.
It was "too political."

Steve Segal, the CSHR grant holder, is an advocate for the
"clinical gaze critique" which relates the Trieste model,
the place where "forced treatment" has been eliminated.
Last spring, I helped arrange for him to train the support
staff at San Jose City College in "clinical gaze critique."

Also note that the "habit structure" of the
"diagnosis behavior" process has today become at
issue due to APA (psychology) practices in
detainee torture. See for instance
http://www.ethicalpsychology.org/
The ambient version of the "clinical gaze" is
starting to crack, at last. [!]

How "political" do they intend to be? Remember,
Malcolm X was a native of Omaha, NE.
