Hello Everyone:

LCWMPA Board members and members of the Land Use Planning Committee have
been working with the Planning Department to ensure the intent of our
LUP is clearly stated in the County Land Use Regulations document. The
document is in the process of being put up on the Taos County website
and will hopefully be there by the end of the week. Some of us have had
the opportunity to review our Neighborhood Association Land Use Plans
that are part of the larger LUR document. We will continue to meet the
Nathan Sanchez and Rick Bellis to offer our feedback and to note
corrections etc.

In the coming weeks we have been told there will be scheduled regional
meetings where you will have the opportunity to again ask questions and
offer comments on the amended Land Use Regulations. Nathan Sanchez will
be scheduling these meetings. I strongly encourage your participation in
this process both in coming to the meetings and certainly reviewing the
document when it becomes available.

There will also be two public hearings before the County Commissioners
as part of the approval process.
The first hearing is scheduled for March 8th, however there is the
possibility it will be changed.

Rick Bellis, Planning Director stated yesterday that the Planning
Department plans on sending a notice to property owners about the hearings.

I just wanted to let you know the latest information. I will be away for
the next couple of weeks and if you have questions please direct them to
Robbie Knight. You can email him at

Many thanks to those who have contributed a great deal of time and
energy in developing our LUP and I look forward to working with all of
you as we move forward in the process.

Barbara
