3 feet is an exaggeration. 16 inches is the correct length. I have photos
of the hoops measured against my mallet to prove it.

The other key point is that the hoops are the same width all the way up.

No the problem with Egyptian hoops and Dawson balls is:
1. The upright and the same size all the way up.
2. The cross bar is square
3. The carrots go 3 feet into the ground, so there is no give.

No more 10% of jump shots were successful in Cairo.

Is it true there was a feeling that Egyptian balls provide for more
"spectacular" jump shots than Dawson balls, and that Dawson's generally
aren't the best for GC play. If so, what are the differences between the
types of balls? What are the differences between Egyptian hoops and
regulation WCF hoops, both in terms of characteristics and effect on play
(i.e. do they "reward" extremely hard hitting)?
