Yesterday at 1:15 PM above the entry meadow at Henry Cowell I observed a
WHITE-TAILED KITE soaring just above tree-top level. A COMMON RAVEN flew
below the kite seemingly keeping the kite from landing atop the redwood
trees where it often perches. After some maneuvering the kite final landed
whereupon the raven flew up to the kite presenting a full display of spread
wings, out-thrust feet and a loud call. The kite flew off in a northerly
direction.

At 11:15 this morning (12/25) there was a WHITE-TAILED KITE hunting over
the meadow at the entrance to Henry Cowell. Crows passed it by.

Also, there were large flocks (100+) of PINE SISKINS moving among and
feeding on the redwoods that parallel the entry road.
