The leafs on our yucca plant are dry or burnt. Too much water? Or something else? Do yucca plants require fertilizer?

Hi! I am starting a little herb garden. I decided to start sterilizing the soil in the oven. First I put the dirt in a broil bag with a thermometer in, since the dirt did not get as fast as I expected the 200F I raised the temperature to 375 F until the soil got the 180F and then I leave it for 30 minutes at that temperature. After doing that I read that is not good to expose the soil above 200 F because then the soil releases toxins for the soil. The thermometer in the soil never reach a temperature higher than 200 F, but I am not sure if I already did wrong... I am afraid I will transplant my little herbs into that and they wont grow. What you recomended? Should I use that soil?

We are having a problem with our 14 year old citrus trees. We have lost a lime tree and are starting to lose a second one to the same condition. The leaves curl, turn brown and fall off of one limb. We cut the limb off and then another limb does the same thing, then another and another until the tree is gone. Can you help? One of our orange trees is starting to do the same thing. Thank you for your help.

I have tiny black dots on my cucumber plant leaves that seem to be sucking the life out of the plant and causing the leaves to curl and shrivel up. I have tried to find information and identify them but I have not been successful. In describing them, people have suggested that they are aphids, but i would like to know definately, can you help with that? Thank you, for your help.

Is a rubberized horse water trough (with drainage holes) safe for vegetable gardening in Phoenix AZ?
Thank you!

2 things
I recently started growing some herbs, Basil, cilantro, fennel, mint and a couple of others.
Basil when I purchased the original plants they had large leaves. I have 2 plants that I have wintered outside and trimmed the plants b4 the spring growing, both plant have sprung forth and they now are doing good, except the leaves are small and not the large leaves that I expected. They are both in Pots. Also I planted cilantro this year and was I surprised. the plant is about 3 to 4 feet tall and has a very lacy leaf on the stems the bottom leaves are the regular cilantro leaves and they have lots of blooms. I was told that I need to keep the blooms off of basil and was wondering about the cilantro.

Tomatoes
I use to raise tomatoes by the acre in Virginia and sold them to a cannery. I have lived in AZ since 1973 and except for 1 year when i was given a 5 gal bucket of fish oil my tomatoe growing has only been so-so. The tomatoes this year started off really good and I had 2 nice size tomatoes and then it looks like something is killing the plant internal. The limbs and leave started dying from the top down the plant have a number of tomatoes about the size oa a ping pong ball but they never get any bigger. Why? I used miracle grow pellets and in the past I have used the liquid. Last year I had green beans with runners up to 6+ feet lots of blooms not one that is right not 1 bean. Any info you might pass on would be greatly appreciated.

I am building some raised garden beds and was wondering what type wood would be best. I'm considering cedar, redwood or douglas fir. What are the advantages or disadvantages of each. Thanks

What is the proper way to prune/cut back a sage bush? Mine has grown too tall-5 feet- and is very leggy. Others I see in the neighborhood are shorter and have more leaves. Has mine grown this way because it hasn't been watered enough? Is this the right time of year to do this? Can I just cut it in half by sawing off the branches? I don't want to hurt it, but don't like the size now or the way it looks.

Some leaves on my rose climbers are yellow with green spots. What is this condition? How can it be treated non-chemically? I have a pet that cannot be exposed to chemicals.
