Posted on the FSE-ESF mailing list. Go to http://lists.fse-esf.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fse-esf to subscribe. Dear Simo, dear Hungarian social forum roundtable and dear all,

first of all it would be better to wait for an answer of clarification,
before taking a position. I received just now the message below message.
Here the answers:
- first of all: what happened? Some social activists of a movement
called "Rights in Action" (NO FIOM) threw some eggs and red paint
against the building of CISL head quarter in Rome.
- We don't consider this an aggression neither a violence, but an
unuseful and wrong act that is used to support an instrumental harsh
campaign against all those who are trying to resist to Governement and
employers attacks - aggressions to labour, first of all the cancellation
of the collective national contract.
- Our evaluation is the same for the previous fact, happened in
Bergamo: eggs against the local Cisl head quarter, thrown by few
workers, Fiom members

We invited all our members and also those who are not, to refrain from
such acts, mainly used against metalworkers and Fiom, and all those who
"dissent".

The campaign (against "violence, terrorism, and other similiar things"
that have nothing to do with EGGS....), leaded by Governement and
Ministry of labour in particular, and by some mainstream media, is
intended to undermine the big national metalworkers demonstration in
Rome on the 16th of october, called by Fiom, where many other
associations, social movements, and parties will participate. Title of
the demonstration: *NO TO BLACKMAIL, YES TO THE RIGHTS - WORK IS A
COMMON GOOD! (Solidarity messages are most welcome!)*

Actually, Fiom is* "guilty" *because we are the only Union who refused
to sign agreements with Federmeccanica (employers association), with
Fiat, with Governement - agreements detrimental for workers' and Union
rights, destroying the national collective contract, agreements that
the other Unions (including Cisl) did sign, without any democratic
workers' mandate!!!!
And this is the reason why workers are angry, neither extremists nor
"far leftist"!

*To be very frank, dear hungarian friends, I consider these separate
agreements the real "intolerable attack" and the real "antidemocratic
act destinate to divide the working society".
PLEASE, THINK ABOUT!

I will be pleased to send more informations, if requested!

All the best to all of you

Dear Alessandra, If your informations are correct, it is incomprehensible why leaders of CGIL, which FIOM is affiliated, have energically condemned the action and invited FIOM to exclude from his ranks the responsibles for this new aggression, executed not only with eggs, but also with tear gas, like it was on 8 September against CISL president Bonanni at the forum of PD.es

about "internal italian trade unions' eggs affairs"! Political debate
and also struggle is a different thing.
In any case we will not exclude from Fiom ranks people throwing eggs! I
suggest you to be more careful also in reading newspapers. No tear gas
(just fumogene), and not by fiom, but by a young woman student, in
september! And this is my last answer about "eggs case" on the list. If
you want to continue the "egg debate", please let's do it personally. Thanks
Alessandra

first of all it would be better to wait for an answer of clarification,
before taking a position.

La Repubblica, a paper that surely cannot be idetified with the radical left, talks about "il lancio di vernice, uova, fumogeni e volantini" which translates as "the throwing of paint, eggs, 'smoke bombs' (a type of firework which emits coloured smoke) and leaflets". No mention of tear gas because there was no teargas. Anyway. Alessandra clearly never condoned these attacks, but stressed that they are far from being 'terrorist' acts as they are portrayed in most of the 'regime' press. The attacks are being blown up out of proportion in an attempt (not even very subtle) to delegitimise Fiom and any other form of opposition to the methodical dismantling of worker's rights. This attempt is clearly -and regrettably - being successful. The attacks have the main fault of having served just nicely this purpose, but the substance of the workers' situation (and legitimate anger) is what we should be focussing the discussion on, instead of playing the game they want us to play.

Dear Alessandra,

If your informations are correct, it is incomprehensible why leaders of CGIL, which FIOM is affiliated, have energically condemned the action and invited FIOM to exclude from his ranks the responsibles for this new aggression, executed not only with eggs, but also with tear gas, like it was on 8 September against CISL president Bonanni at the forum of PD.

about "internal italian trade unions' eggs affairs"!
Thanks

first of all it would be better to wait for an answer of clarification,
before taking a position.

Most of the victims have died in their own unheated homes, where supply of gaz and electricity have been cut because of the unpaid bills. In a common appeal the Hungarian Social Forum – Social Roundtable and the Christian Social Movement have raised the political responsibility of the government for the frost killing mass death. We are not disposed to renounce to the life of anybody for the interest of any sort of policy, any kind of government and power standpoints. We have arrived to the point, that every year hundreds and hundreds of people cannot implement their most fundamental human right, the right to live – Simó told in a Press Conference held with the participation of 12 social organisations and political groups of Left and Right, in which they have reproposed the extraordinary mesures to save the lifes during the remaining winter period. They also have called the political forces represented in the National Assembly to exerce pressure on the governement to save the lives. The axis of the Alliance for Life is HSF-SR (Simó) and Christian Social Movement led by a member of the presideny of the Christian Democratic Peoples Party, member of the ruling coalition. Dear Alessandra,

If your informations are correct, it is incomprehensible why leaders of CGIL, which FIOM is affiliated, have energically condemned the action and invited FIOM to exclude from his ranks the responsibles for this new aggression, executed not only with eggs, but also with tear gas, like it was on 8 September against CISL president Bonanni at the forum of PD.

mariangela Alliance in Hungary for life and for the insertion into the New Constitution of Social Rights In Hungary the number of people killed by freeze is nearing to four hundred. (No participation of Attac Hungary of Mátyás Benyik, of the United Left of Tamás Krausz and of the HSF Network of Mátyás Benyik.) Hungarian Social Forum and Christian Social Movement has also announced the convocation of the Social Roundtable for give voice to the social demand to insert into the new hungarian Constitution wanted by the majority, of the Rights to Housing, to Job, to human dign living conditions, the Right to minimum source of livelihood and Peace. Social Roundtable asks to postpone the constituency process and give voice to the Hungarian Society Before the European Parliamentary discussion of Monday on the Hungarian draft of Constitution, wanted by the People Party Group, the Social Roundtable of the Hungarian Social Forum has called on Saturday the government and the National Assembly of Hungary to postpone by one year the approval of the new Constitution for give opportunity to people to tell, what do they want to codify in the new Charter. In the meeting held in the Workers Party building in Budapest, 25 civic organisations, political groups and parties, among them the newly created Social Union of Katalin Szili (former president of the National Assembly) present for the first time, more one trade union have agreed, with the exeption of one organisation, that the present constituency process imposed by the center-right government does not reflect the people’s will, because fundamental human and social rights are let out of consideration and desappear from the draft of the new Charter. „The overwhelming majority of the people want to insert into the new Constitution the rights to Live, to Health, to Job and to Dign Life, the Right to House and Social Security. They want that Hungary committ itself with Peace. They want to live in Democracy and Freedom, and they want to have a voice about their future, by the way of the institutionalisation of new participatory democracy forms, like an upper house with control over the legislation, and the constitutional possibility to recall the government between two parliamentary elections if it does not implement the human and social rights included in the Charter of Constitution” – they tell. The Social Roundtable has called the attention of the government and of the International Community to the fact, that the government’s draft of Charter omits elementary human and social rights Hungary has recognized by subscribing the UN Charter and the International Law of Human Rights regarding Peace and Social Justice. Namely the rights to Live, to Welfare, to House and Personal Security. They want that the new Constitution define the concept of Independence, Self-Determination and Sovreignity in the circumstances of predominance of the Transnational corporations in Hungary. „Hungarian Society will not acknowledge as own a constitution not containing the fundamental Human and Social Rights, as well as the Rights of Freedom. The big task presumes political tolerance, clairvoyance, democratic openness and Humility with the Society” – they have written in their message sent to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the chiefs of the Parties Group of the National Assembly.(No participation of Attac, United Left and HSF Network)es (Endre Simó) 27th March 2011-03-27

first of all it would be better to wait for an answer of clarification,
before taking a position.

I will be pleased to send more informations, if requested!

about "internal italian trade unions' eggs affairs"!
Thanks

first of all it would be better to wait for an answer of clarification,
before taking a position.

All the best to all of you

about "internal italian trade unions' eggs affairs"!
Thanks

The attacks have the main fault of having served just nicely this purpose, but the substance of the workers' situation (and legitimate anger) is what we should be focussing the discussion on, instead of playing the game they want us to play.

before taking a position.

Thanks
Alessandra

Dear Alessandra,

mariangela Alliance in Hungary for life and for the insertion into the New Constitution of Social Rights In Hungary the number of people killed by freeze is nearing to four hundred. At the Roundtable also the ruling Centre-Right Coalition has been invited. The big task presumes political tolerance, clairvoyance, democratic openness and Humility with the Society” – they have written in their message sent to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the chiefs of the Parties Group of the National Assembly.(No participation of Attac, United Left and HSF Network)es (Endre Simó) 27th March 2011-03-27 We wish to send our congratulations to our Italian Friends for the important Social and Political success achieved democratically, by a large democratic social alliance on the referendums in Italy.
